Celebrate and congratulate Newlyweds or Anniversary couples with my exquisitely crafted Large Serving Bowl with Swimming Koi Fish in Celadon Green
Drawing inspiration from my Korean heritage, I take immense pleasure in exploring the traditional art of Korean Buncheong slip work, incorporating hand-carved Swimming Together Koi, and utilizing glazes blended with my very own recipe.
Each piece undergoes a meticulous five-step process (besides of glazing and firing process that takes almost one week), starting with hand-throwing on the wheel, followed by precise bottom trimming, the meticulous carving and inlaying the slip of the lines around the inside and outside of the rim, and finally engraving Two Swimming Koi inside the bowl.
In addition to their beauty, Koi fish are known for their strength in the Oriental culture as they swim upriver against powerful currents. In the center of the bowl, I carved a pair of Koi fish swimming together side by side presented as a good luck symbol for a happy marriage in harmony and unity.
Experience the beauty of tradition fused with modern craftsmanship in this large serving bowl that will undoubtedly become a cherished centerpiece in any home.
All of my glazes are made in my studio with materials that are lead-free and food-safe and finished the piece by firing twice at a high temperature.
Safe to use DISHWASHER, MICROWAVE, and OVEN.
