Each piece undergoes a meticulous five-step process (in addition to the glazing and firing proc takes almost one week), starting with hand-throwing on the wheel, followed by precise bottom trimming, intricate slip-work, personalized engraving of names and dates inside the rim, and finally, the meticulous carving of two swimming Koi inside the bowl.

Koi fish symbolize harmony, love, and fidelity in marriage. The pairing represents the deep bond and mutual respect between partners. Koi fish are known for swimming upstream against strong currents, symbolizing perseverance and determination. In marriage, this reflects the couple's ability to overcome challenges together and grow stronger through adversity.

All of my glazes are made in my studio with lead-free and food-safe materials. I finish each piece by firing twice at a high temperature.
